Our Mission
To empower young females attending public schools in Freeport, Grand Bahama to pursue higher education by providing financial support, mentorship, and encouragement—so they can realize their full potential and rise to meet their dreams.
Our History
The Delauris Cooper Rising Sun Scholarship Foundation was established by her daughter, Lisa Monique Potter, to honor the legacy of resilience, determination, and hope that her mother passed on to her. The Foundation is dedicated to empowering young women in Freeport, Grand Bahama, who have demonstrated academic excellence, character, and a commitment to service.
Our Programs
Awards may include tuition assistance, fees, books and supplies, mentorship, a laptop, encouragement from the Foundation, and recognition as a Rising Sun Scholar. Final award amounts are determined by the Foundation and available funds.
